Gaylor focuses his attention on the poster boy of Mash-up music, Gregg Gillis aka Girl Talk, as they both work to make the case that remixing is form of art that shouldn't be punishable under current copyright laws.

The film has already won several awards at various film festivals and is beginning to receive even more attention now that Gaylor has posted the entire film online and challenged his fanbase, in true fair use fashion, to remix parts of the movie. The best remixes will eventually become part of the official re-release of the film.

This isn't the first time Gillis has appeared in a politically charged movie. In 2007, he appeared alongside DJ Danger Mouse in a documentary entitled Good Copy Bad Copy that dealt more with the legality of internet file sharing.

I can guarantee one thing: Sasquatch will not pull a Langerado.

A handful of big names overlap with Bonnaroo, but that's not a bad thing considering how far apart they are from each other: Sasquatch is in Washington state and Bonnaroo (lineup) is in Tennessee. Both still have more artists to add, but already it seems like both are upgraded from last year. I don't think Bonnaroo can be called a jam band festival anymore, but it's a wee bit more chill than its intensely indie counterpart. West Coast, start rounding up the troops.

The lineup is packed full of big names and great accompanying artists. Metallica and Kanye are gone this year (YES!), and Phish is bringing back Bonnaroo as a jam band festival, doing two shows over the four days.  It could use a dosage of hip-hop though, so hopefully that comes with the next announcement (last year I got front row for Lupe Fiasco and Talib Kweli followed - needless to say it was a highlight of the festival). Other than that, the lineup is spectacular. We'll let you know when more artists get announced. 

See the whole thing at bonnaroo.com. Tickets go on sale Feb. 7. The first wave sold out already (before the artists were even announced), so the next price level is $234.50, then $249.50 once those sell out.

Langerado regulars are going to have some initial backlash with the news of this year's festival: it has been cut back down to three days and worst of all camping has been eliminated from the equation! Also the location has changed from the Big Cypress Indian Reservation to Bicentennial Park in Miami. But don't get too down: the initial lineup looks spectacular. Girl Talk, Slightly Stoopid, and Umphrey's make returns, plus tons of newcomers. I expected bigger headliners than Death Cab and Snoop Dogg, but this is quite pleasing for the first announcement.

His newest LP Feed The Animals was released in June, and it appears it might be his last full release for a whiiile. "We've got four years — so maybe there's going to be a couple other small releases in the works. The album just came out, so I have no plans for another release, but I'm constantly starting to work on new stuff, just for the live shows," says mash-up king Gregg Gillis.

With a 24-hour set, it is obviously going to be difficult keeping the crowd into it the whole time, so don't expect Gillis to whip out high energy tracks the whole time. It will be an "endurance race," he says:

"I used to play very short sets, and now I kinda play a standard 45-minute to one-hour set, so I think I wanna do a 24-hour set, [and] I want it to be a stage production, but one where the lines become blurry between reality and complete stage me. I want it to be an endurance test, and I want it to be miserable and equally fantastic. I want the best of both worlds," he explained. "I think [in] too many shows, people are too aimed at pleasing the audience. If you want to do a really great show — which I haven't fully done yet — you have to really make it bad for them for like 20 hours and then you can kill it for four hours, and everyone will be really excited. I think people ignore the dynamics of how you can work the with an audience."

With the show over four years away, Girl Talk has plenty of time to perfect his epic performance. Now, he's busy promoting Feed The Animals, which he pulled a Radiohead with by using a pay-what-you-want scheme.

There's something missing though! Where is the show going to be!?!?
