Two members of Evanescence have exited the band, which leaves room for question about the future of the band.

Guitarist John LeCompt was fired from the band and drummer Rocky Gray had quit.

LeCompt said: “I’m done and I’m pretty upset about it.(Singer) Amy [Lee] called and fired me today. There’s absolutely no loyalty in this band.”

The guitarist said he is now focusing on his new band with Gray called Machina.

On his blog he writes: “Around 3:30 pm yesterday I received a call on my cell from Amy. This call wasn’t from a friend who appreciated me but from an enemy who was prepared to hurt me and my family. Without any warning or negotiations for my future, I was fired for no good reason. We have not always seen eye to eye on everything, but who does?”

“Our common goal was always the same. To make Evanescence the best rock band it could ever be. I have always given blood, sweat and tears to make that happen but apparently that is not enough. I have now become just another of the people fallen by the wayside on the revolving door of her life. It’s funny how many of us there are now. I guess it’s good for lyrical content, though. Maybe I will be among the blessed to have a song written about me, too. Maybe the song will be ‘Call Me When You’re Broke’.”

To me, this questions Amy Lee’s decision making and motives, simply because they should have talked it through before she just goes ahead and fires him from the band. I actually find this news rediculous - it seems as if there was no reasoning behind it. Although Amy Lee has not said anything as of yet, the news does seem a bit odd. We will post again when Amy comes out with an official word.

Ex-Smashing Pumpkins guitarist, James Iha, has announced that he has no intention of touring with the band this spring/summer.

Iha claims he is too busy writing music for his solo project and working on his indie record label, Scratchie Records. He even told Rolling Stone, “I haven’t spoken to Billy [Corgan] in years.”

The only members on board for the reunion so far are singer Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlain. It does not appear that guitarist Iha or bassist Wretzky will join.

However, temporary member Melissa Auf der Maur has stated, “My services are always there to play my favorite songs. If D’arcy [Wretzky] is not available, I’m always happy to be second in line.”

With Iha’s announcement, a few questions are brought up.

How can Corgan and Chamberlain expect this to fly if they don’t follow up and try to convince Iha or D’arcy Wretzky?

Does this mean the upcoming Smashing Pumpkins album Zeitgeist will only feature Corgan and Chamberlain? Disappointing.

Will they delay the reunion concert until all the members have time and are up for it?

Only time will tell..
What do you think about this “reunion”?

Do you remember Jin and Poster Boy - the legends from the Freestyle Friday Hall of Fame? I can remember them going from obscurity to sensations as people tuned in week after week to see who they would face next. After each victory they would get closer to the ultimate honor of induction into the Hall of Fame. Poster Boy was the first to recieve the acclaim and Jin followed suit soon after.

Even more rewarding for them were the record deals that followed. Poster Boy quickly put out a single with Swizz Beats (the hottest producer at the time) that ripped a freestyle flow over a bangin Jurassic Park sample. Jin got scooped up by the Ruff Ryders and had his Wyclef produced single - “Learn Chinese” - hit the mainstream.

But after these initial spurts of focus, neither maintained their glory or lived up to their expectations. In fact, we were unable to find much of anything about either artists’ current endeavors. Jin has reportedly dropped a couple albums and at one point changed his name to “The Emcee”, a move that seems pretty bland and boring. Review of a MySpace profile called TheRealJin made mention to Jin concerts in San Francisco and London. Poster Boy, however, seems to have fallen off the musical map entirely.

Below you’ll find one of our favorite ever Jin battles. In Week 6, Skazoo goes first and rips a ridiculous freestyle that looks like it could end Jin’s reign. At the end of the flow he calls AJ’s (the host) wardrobe “terrible” - creating a little ruckus. Jin helps put him in his place with a knockout punch that rightfully sends Skazoo out the door.

If you’ve got any news or updates on what Poster Boy or Jin are up to now… leave a reply. We’re probably not the only ones eager to know!

Apple has always been known for going through movements to prevent *piracy*, so again they tried to prevent it here. They do not want you to be able to copy songs from iPod to PC, but there is a quick and easy way. This 2 minute tutorial will show you how to access your songs outside of iTunes and how to then back up your iPod onto your computer, assuming you are running Windows.

The iPod has simply “hidden” the songs from you, so all you have to do is to “unhide” the folders.
To view the songs on your iPod:

Connect your iPod and open My Computer

Click on the iPod in the “removable devices” section

At the top navigation bar, choose Tools > Folder Options > select tab “View” > Scroll down until you find “hidden

Show hidden folders

Here, you are viewing the iPods song archive. Since the iPod has a different file system, it will be unorganized.
To back up, access, or play the songs:

Copy all folders in the music directory (The folder names should be something like F1, F23, etc)

Open another My Computer session and create a folder somewhere on your hard drive. A good example folder is C:/Johns_iPod_Backup_4-17-07/

Paste all of the folders to this directory (now you have a complete backup of your iPod)

Since these are very unorganized, the only way to get all these songs organized is to open iTunes, go to File > Add Folder to Library and select C:/Johns_iPod_Backup_4-17-07/

This is a very useful technique if you want to back up your iPod in one place, instead of having it scattered around throughout your hard drive. Also, this way you can copy songs to other computers just like you can when you use it as an external hard drive. The only downside is that some of the songs in iTunes AAC format may not work on the second computer.

If it’s true love and it lasts, that could mean children and it could mean very ugly children. Russell Simmons is an old man with tons of wrinkles! Petra deserves someone more like a MusicLeech.com writer. Hey Kimora, want to get back at Russell? We kid, we kid.
