mp3: Tape Deck Mountain - "Scantrons"
Well this is appropriate. I'm (taking a break from) studying for my psychology final that is tomorrow morning that just happens to be a scantron test. Not that that's the reason why I'm posting this... or unconsciously maybe it is.
Anyway, "Scantrons" is the first song off their debut album Ghost which came out last month. I first heard of these guys from their song "Ghost Colony", which I like a little more than this, but my point is that the album is worth a listen if you're looking for a murky, wintery record. I don't stay too seasonal about my postings, but I guess this is a start.
They describe themselves as 'mid-fi' but I'm not sure what that means, so I'll do my own classifying and say it's indie-rock with post-rock influences. Definitely check out the album if you like either of these tracks.
(Psst. It's on Rhapsody)
