Javelin

Oh, the possibilities that samples bring. Rather than predictably use them to mash-up hits, Javelin use them on their debut EP to piece together meandering electronic jams often grounded by curious vocal narrations. The soundscape is vast and abrupt, but flowing melodies and upbeat drums keep it safely in the realm of pop music, often resembling the general aura of recent breakthrough artists Neon Indian and Washed Out.

The five-song EP is available for free streaming and purchase at Thrill Jockey, but act quick if you want the physical disc because it's limited to 500 copies. If not, the digital tracks are cheaper, so win/win!
Also be sure to watch out for their full-length due sometime soon on David Byrne's Luaka Bop label.
