Kid Cudi and Ratatat Perform “Pursuit of Happiness” on Letterman
| by Rad Parker on September 12th, 2009 |
Here is the video of Kid Cudi's performance from Friday night on the Late Show with David Letterman. Cudi makes a bold statement by choosing his 3rd single, titled "Pursuit Of Happiness", so close to the September 15th release date. Cudi's first lines from the song : "Crush A Bit; Little Bit; Roll It Up; Take A Hit Feelin’ Lit". Seems like he would promote either "Day N Night" or "Make Her Say" to appeal to the more mainstream crowd watching late night television. Regardless, we get to see Kid and Ratatat performing this song live for the first time and they do pretty well. I wish MGMT would have shown for the background vocals that are on the actual album track. Be sure to grab a couple of tracks from the album below the video, or if you are bold, the album did leak a few days ago.

Kid Cudi et al are polished and have a oddly magical pace and progressive percussive underpinning. Interesting must listen to more…
