Russian Circles prep ‘Geneva’

Emily Parliman at CMJ hit this band's one-line description head-on when she described them as "metal-edged post-rockers", only she forgot to mention they are all-instrumental.
Russian Circles played Bonnaroo this year to a small crowd of about 200 late at night, and boy was it awesome. They naturally bridge sharp, adrenaline-pumping metal with beautiful post-rock sound-scapes, making for a sweet combination that is surprisingly unique.
Geneva, out October 20 on Suicide Squeeze/Sargent House, is the band's third full-length. Here's the tracklist:
01. Fathom
02. Geneva
03. Melee
04. Hexed All
05. Malko
06. When the Mountain Comes To Muhammad
Stream "Malko" at the band's MySpace.

"There was no real direction while writing Geneva and I think that's the beauty of it," drummer Dave Turncrantz tells CMJ of the new album's creation. "We just spent weeks in a concentrated area writing and hanging out together in the middle of nowhere. There was no pressure and we just wanted to have fun and write songs that made us happy."
