Grizzly Bear’s ‘Veckatimest’ Leaks Three Months Early

by Mark Jackson on March 3rd, 2009

Here's the deal folks: out there on the etherwebs, Veckatimest, Grizzly Bear's fantastic follow-up to 2006's Yellow House is floating around, but at a crappy bitrate of 128 kbps. I'm not a hardcore Grizzly Bear fan so I decided to hop on the pirate train, but a better quality rip should hit sometime soon if you're concerned about getting a bad listen, which a 128 kbps rip definitely is. Or you could always do the right thing and wait another three months....... meh.

UPDATE: there are 192 kbps+ rips out there right now

Here's what Ed Droste had to say via his Twitter account:

I'm trying to be zen about the album leaking because I'm "ok" with it, but I'm bummed. And apparently it's [a] low quality rip. :( So now everyone will be judging it off of a crappy rip. Sigh.... Was hoping to make it to at least april! I'm cool with it just....so early!
