In all three of these remixes Phaseone accentuates the vibes already given, adding his soaring synth lines to give the songs an almost transcendental feel, especially in the already powerful "Archangel".

Panda Bear - "I’m Not" (Phaseone remix)
"I'm Not" is one of my favorites off Panda Bear's Person Pitch, and Phaseone's rework turns it into a landscape of overlapping beats and harmonies, also adding hand claps throughout which give it a sense of immediacy as opposed to the ghostly/timeless feel of the original.

Burial - "Archangel" (Phaseone remix)
Burial is a London dubstep artist who remained anonymous until after he released his first and second albums, both of which received critical acclaim. Phaseone's similarities to Burial give "Archangel" a very cohesive feel. He tries to build on the song's downtempo beats and surreal vocals, again adding those trademark synths.

Grouper - "Heavy Water" (Phaseone edit)
The original is a calm acoustic piece with soothing vocals off their great 2008 album Dragging a Dead Dear Up A Hill. The remix gives it some edge, first mixing in high electronic riffs and a dark backdrop, later adding hand claps and echoes. A very nice interpretation of the original: it somehow keeps the Grouper relaxation factor, but makes it a bit busier.
